Required Reading

I got books!

I am much more excited than I ought to be. Because the Amazon people sent me more than just my Oprah book club selection today. They send me what I've been jonesin' for.

Since Oct 31 I've been sitting here, looking longingly outside, wondering when I could plant, trim and basically wander around outside in my PJs again. I was waiting for frosts to come and go, not wanting to plant something, trim something, do something that an evil, though rare, frost might undo in a few chilly hours overnight.

So here I've sat. Occasionally weeding. Devouring gardening podcasts and blogs. Itching to trim things. Willing myself not to go to the garden center. Not to purchase something else wonderful that could be injured by the cold when I'm not looking.

But now, I have a new outlet for my obsession. Tom McCubbin in Orlando is going to give me directions on what to do every month when gardening in central Florida. Another author will be showing me how to grow vegetables in central Florida.

I can't wait.

I'm a big dork.

I can't tell you how excited I am. Because these people have directions on how to garden during the chilly months. Did you hear me?? I will now be able to garden from November through February! I can continue my obsession for three extra months!
